Not to mention they're so cute!

I spent 4 years working at a law firm in Ventura, California, and all the while, I was hoping, even praying for that jury summons.  Did I get it, no, although my sisters got them, as did my Mom and my Dad, actually, everyone on the face of the planet, not to mention my office, got one!  So, I resign myself to never getting to serve on a jury and moved to Canada where, as a resident, but not a citizen, I will never get to fulfill that particular civic role.  Now, what comes for me in the mail in California?  You got it, MY long longed for, but never received Jury Summons!  What can I say?  Not much, I'm too busy screaming and stamping my feet!

I should add that I moved from Ventura, California, where I had lived for 27 years, to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Needless to say, the weather was a bit different!

Soon after reaching Canada, my husband and I returned to the U.S., i.e. Buffalo, New York, to pick up my Canadian Visa.
